Professional Development
Essential for educational excellence and improvement, professional growth is an ongoing commitment by all staff members. The district makes every effort to maximize instructional time for students and professional development time for staff members.
In addition to staff development activities scheduled after school, on weekends, and during breaks, an adjusted Wednesday schedule once a month enables teachers to work together across the district to maintain consistency of instructional programs. Two staff development days outside the student calendar support district and site improvement goals.
Especially important is support for new teachers. Any new teachers to our district should contact their school principal to find out the current professional development opportunities, especially the trainings available during summer prior to the start of the new school year.
